❗❗❗Huge Announcement❗❗❗
We’re honoured (and thrilled and stunned and spiralling out of control) to share that acclaimed writer Madhan Karky is writing Son of Thanjai. For all of us at Ayelet Studio, this is a defining moment in our studio's journey.
Wait! Scratch that!
It's a defining moment in Indian gaming at large.

Why Karky
Son of Thanjai is set in a time of ambition, expansion, faith, and contradiction. More than retelling history, we wanted to explore the human cost of legacy: what it means to inherit power, to shape empires, and to live with the consequences. Our intent was always to ask deeper human questions within it.
That means our narrative needs nuance and restraint as much as it needs spectacle. To do that right, our world needed a voice that could carry both scale and meaning, style and substance, spectacle and silence.
Madhan Karky’s work across cinema has consistently demonstrated that rare balance. That approach aligns deeply with what Son of Thanjai aims to be.
What this means for us
Karky will be writing the core story structure, main and side narratives, Tamil and English dialogues, and guiding the philosophical backbone of the game. His work will NOT be limited to just cutscenes; it will go deep into NPC lives, world conversations, songs, and the quiet moments players encounter while exploring the world.
With Madhan Karky, we gain a voice capable of holding two truths at once: the grandeur of kingship and the quiet humanity that exists within it. This balance is essential for a story that seeks not just to entertain, but to linger on, asking players to reflect long after the controller is put down.
Being an avid gamer himself, this is the kind of project he's always wanted to work on. We’re deeply grateful for the trust he has placed in an indie studio like ours. And, we're super pumped to build this world alongside him.
